MODONG — A Brand Grown from “Love”

The brand’s founder, Michelle, was bullied in elementary school due to her overweight. Her grandmother, following traditional rural eating habits (a large bowl of porridge with fermented tofu morning and evening), was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in her forties and required daily insulin injections. Over a disease course spanning more than thirty years, she experienced repeated complications, leaving the family anxious in hospitals time and again.

Drawing from her own experiences with obesity and her grandmother’s diabetes, which brought both physical and psychological challenges, Michelle pursued a career as a medical journalist after graduate school and has published six health-related books.

In 2018, Michelle began studying the effects of low-carb diets on health. In 2019, she launched the first product, MODONG Coffee, as a healthy breakfast option for adults while promoting a low-carb lifestyle—aiming to help more people maintain their figure and health through dietary adjustments.

Michelle’s mother once invited a nutritionist to guide Michelle’s diet, helping her lose weight successfully within three months during her teenage years. Michelle firmly believes in the principle: “A mother’s table protects the health of the whole family.” A mother’s understanding of health and her dietary choices can determine the wellbeing of the family. Health is not just about products—it is a lifestyle that can be sustained over time.

When mothers worry about their children’s health, when elders repeatedly visit hospitals due to chronic illnesses, and when more people sigh at their reflection in the mirror, what we see are not cold numbers or medical conditions—but faces longing for health and families aspiring for a better life.

MODONG strives to be a warm light, using science as a shield, helping millions of families build walls of health through a low-carb lifestyle.

With responsibility as our vessel, we spread professional health knowledge, carrying every mother toward a shore where she can protect her loved ones.
